FOR YEAR 7 PARENTS AND CARERS
WEDNESDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2011 6 – 8PM
This course provides an opportunity for you to learn about the types of technology available, how young people use it and how you can support them.
The course will provide you with current information including:
- Keeping young people safe online
- Cyber bullying
- Internet safety
- Safe technology
- Emails
- Jargon / text speak
- Discussing the sort of technology that young people use and access e.g. TV, DVD, electronic games, mobile phones, internet
- How learning has changed since parents / carers were at school
- School ICT policy
- Exploring possible ways to support young people’s learning online
- Scanning for information and research skills to help parents access information
