Design & Technology

In Design and Technology students can combine practical and technological skills with creative thinking to design and make products that meet human needs. Students learn to think creatively to improve the quality of life, solving problems as individuals and members of a team.

Key Stage 3

The curriculum is designed to cover aspects of resistant materials, food, textiles, graphics and systems and control. Opportunities are provided for students to analyse products to learn how they function. They undertake focused practical tasks and design and make assignments in different contexts. They are encouraged to use ICT as appropriate for generation of ideas and product realisation.

Key Stage 4

We are currently offering GCSE courses in Hospitality and Catering, Resistant Materials and Textiles.
